Challenge
Anand Hospital in Indore established a dedicated Covid-19 care facility at the height of the pandemic. The facility covered 9,500 sq. ft. and was designed to manage a high volume of patients requiring isolation and care. Under government guidelines for Covid-19 healthcare facilities, continuous and adequate ventilation with a regular supply of fresh, unrecirculated air was mandatory — both to support patient recovery and to reduce the risk of cross-infection among healthcare workers.
Standard air conditioning was not suitable for this environment, as it recirculates indoor air rather than replacing it with fresh outdoor air. The hospital needed a ventilation-first cooling solution that could reliably deliver high volumes of fresh air across the entire facility while keeping the space at a comfortable temperature for patients and staff.
Solution
Symphony Venti Cool’s team conducted a detailed site survey of the hospital facility and designed a large-space cooling and ventilation plan based on the facility’s layout and compliance requirements. Ten units of the PAC-20U Large Space Venti-Cooler were installed, positioned to deliver comprehensive airflow coverage across the full 9,500 sq. ft.
The PAC-20U units collectively delivered a total airflow output of 1,00,000 CFM — providing continuous fresh air replacement throughout the facility. This not only met the government’s ventilation mandate for Covid-care spaces but also maintained a comfortable ambient temperature for patients and a safer working environment for the healthcare team.
Performance
The ten PAC-20U units operated continuously across the facility, maintaining a steady supply of fresh, filtered air to all wards and care areas. The combined 1,00,000 CFM output ensured the required air change rate was met consistently without reliance on any recirculated air. Healthcare workers reported a cleaner, more breathable environment, and the facility remained thermally comfortable throughout operational hours.
Result
Anand Hospital’s Covid-care facility operated in full compliance with government ventilation guidelines. Healthcare workers were able to carry out their duties in a safer, better-ventilated environment — reducing fatigue and maintaining productivity across demanding shifts.
